More Details of Frank Ocean/Chris Brown Fight Emerge

TMZ got their hands on the incident report filed after the parking-spot scuffle between Chris Brown and Frank Ocean outside of an L.A. studio last week. According to Ocean's retelling in the report, Brown tried to shake Ocean's hand, Ocean turned him down, and Brown punched him in the face. At that point, two of Brown's buddies jumped in.

At some point, according to Ocean, Brown threatened to shoot him by saying, "We can bust you too!" and one member of Brown's crew used the term "faggot". Ocean didn't receive medical care on-site, but was later taken to the hospital to treat cuts on his index finger and temple.

It's unlikely that charges will be pressed by Ocean, who is scheduled to perform at the Grammys on Sunday.

Gay Porn Star Arpad Miklos, Star of Perfume Genius' "Hood" Video, Found Dead of Apparent Suicide

Last year, Perfume Genius released a powerful (and controversial) video for his Put Your Back N 2 It track "Hood". The clip, directed by Pitchfork.tv's Winston Case, starred the gay porn star Arpad Miklos and was listed as one of our Top Music Videos of 2012.

Today, The Huffington Post reports that Miklos was found dead February 3 at his New York apartment, of an apparent suicide. He was 45.

In an interview for "Gwissues", a program on the LGBT YouTube channel Gwist, the New York writer Randal Lynch confirmed his death and said a suicide note was found, as The Huffington Post points out. "There was a lot more to him than just that surface persona," Lynch said. "He was a very active person in the gay community."

Speaking about the "Hood" video last year, Perfume Genius' Mike Hadreas said he wanted to show that even a hulking porn star can have feelings, too. "I don't like the idea that people would automatically think something is nasty," he said. "If I just got my boyfriend to be in there with me, people could just pass it off as cute because we're both boyish. I like the idea of not having things be so obvious."

A 16-second clip from the video, of Hadreas and Miklos embracing (both shirtless), was blocked from YouTube last year for "promoting mature sexual themes."

Below, watch the "Gwissues" interview about Miklos and revisit the video for "Hood".

The Flaming Lips Might Be Covering the Stone Roses' Entire Debut LP

The Flaming Lips Might Be Covering the Stone Roses' Entire Debut LP

Photo via Wayne Coyne's Instagram

It looks like the Flaming Lips might be celebrating the Stone Roses' reunion by covering that band's entire 1988 debut LP. The Future Heart points to a series of tweets from Wayne Coyne and his friends, who talk about covering three different songs from that record.

On Instagram (photo above), Coyne wrote, "Doin vocals for She bangs The Drum hopin to get Channy [Leaneagh] of Polica to sing on it too!!!!" According to the evidence, it looks like the album will also feature frequent Lips collaborators New Fumes and Stardeath.

It's unclear if it'll be a proper Flaming Lips album, as was the case with their take on Dark Side of the Moon, or if it's a record assisted by Coyne and the band, like New Fumes' recent version of King Crimson's In the Court of the Crimson King.

Read Larry Fitzmaurice's interview with Steven Drozd here. Here's video, via Future Heart, of New Fumes and HOTT MT working on "I Am the Resurrection", followed by the Stone Roses' video for "She Bangs the Drums":

Ricky Hil: "Nomads" [ft. the Weeknd] on SoundCloud.

What do you do when you're the son of a corporate fashion mogul who made a career spinning gold from a prepster aesthetic? You tattoo your entire body, start rapping, and snag a record deal with Warner Bros. At least that's the path chosen by Tommy Hilfiger's son Ricky Hil (formerly known as Rich Hil).

Hil dropped his mixtape SYLDD yesterday via Noisey. It includes his buddy Abel Tesfaye on a song called "Nomads". It's effectively a Weeknd song with a few spaces for Hil to toss off  his own verse about girls and codeine. Listen to it above, via Noisey.

Watch Liars' "WIXIW" Video, Inspired by Basketball and the Greek Myth of Sisyphus

Liars have shared the minimal, black-and-white video to accompany the title track off their 2012 record, WIXIW. The video, directed by Alex/2Tone, depicts a man's repeated failed attempts at landing a slam dunk. As 2Tone tells Entertainment Weekly, it's like the Greek myth of Sisyphus, in which a man is punished with unsuccessfully rolling a boulder up a hill for eternity, "as told by a young ballplayer lost in a haze of codeine and prescription weed." Watch it below, via Entertainment Weekly.

Liars guitarist Aaron Hemphill told Entertainment Weekly that, while recording WIXIW, "basketball was the only piece of the outside world we would indulge in." He elaborated on the psychological impact:

Watching the players in a finite contest, whose performance was validated with stats that showed they either played a good or bad game, provided some sense of relief and envy for us. With songwriting, there is no such way to determine if you did a good job. No rankings or points. No time limit telling you to stop... In the "WIXIW" video… we find the world of basketball may not be so clearly defined.

Check out an episode of "Pitchfork Weekly" in which Liars talk about recording WIXIW:

Merchandise, Milk Music and Destruction Unit to Tour North America Together This Spring

Some of the strongest groups to recently emerge from the underground punk world will be touring together this spring. Following a trip to Austin's Chaos in Tejas festival, Tampa's Merchandise and Olympia's Milk Music will trek through North America throughout June, along with the psychedelic noise band Destruction Unit from Tempe, Arizona. See the dates, below.

Destruction Unit, featuring former Reatards member Ryan Rousseau, have also shared a video via Pitchfork.tv for "Evil Man", the first cut off their upcoming Void LP, out February 19 on Jolly Dream. (Watch it after the dates.) The video features blown out VHS-style footage shot over two years around the world-- a Brooklyn rooftop, the Sonoran Desert, a Berlin cemetery. It also offers a tour of the Italian commune Abbey of Thelema, founded by the mystic/poet Aleister Crowley in 1920.

The clip is a production of Ascetic House, an Arizona collective affiliated with Destruction Unit and the bands Marshstepper and Body of Light, which releases music, writing, and film. This year they'll release art and literary zines from members of Merchandise, Destruction Unit, Pharmakon, and many more, as well as a split VHS tape from Merchandise and Marshstepper, and a VHS featuring Lower and Marshstepper live at the Copenhagen venue Mayhem.
