Two years ago, Sonny Smith's Bay Area band Sonny and the Sunsets signed to Fat Possum and then released Hit After Hit in 2011. Now, the band has new label, Polyvinyl, and is readying a new album, Longtime Companion, out June 26. It's a country album, which is made evident by the pedal steel-featuring ballad "Pretend You Love Me" (above).
