"i watched 'silver linings playbook' on a flight the other day. this movie is so motherfucking bad and ridiculous. such a completely offensive film--- a complete mockery of the real gravity of mental illness. and the 'response' to this piece of shit makes me want to weep or scream: for everyone in real mental pain and for all of our brothers and sisters and sons and daughters and mothers and fathers and friends and lovers who suffer... and who won't simply be 'fixed' when they find the right girl or whatever the fuck that movie suggests... the fawning over this film and over bradley cooper's performance by our so-called 'culture' makes me so sad..."
-- Tom Krell a.k.a How to Dress Well offers strong criticism of the film Silver Linings Playbook and its depiction of mental illness. Passion Pit's Michael Angelakos recently did the same in advance of the Oscars. (via Twitter)
