Today marks the Illinois holiday commemorating Revolutionary War figure Casimir Pulaski, the subject of Sufjan Stevens' well-loved track "Casimir Pulaski Day" from 2005's Illinois. Stevens, who's apparently doing some hard-drive housekeeping, has shared an early demo of the song on his Tumblr.
"Not sure when I recorded this, but I was obviously still working it out. XXOO Sloppy Joe," he wrote. Listen to the demo here.
