Record Store Day, which takes place April 20, champions mom-and-pop music shops with special releases only available in independent stores on that day. Warner Bros., a sponsor of Record Store Day, has detailed its 2013 Record Store Day limited edition vinyl contributions from Flaming Lips, Black Keys, Iron & Wine, Foals, Tegan and Sara, and Surfer Blood, among others.
- Flaming Lips will release their unique 1997 record Zaireeka, which comes on four discs that are meant to be played simultaneously, on colored 12" vinyl, remastered with new art.
- Iron & Wine will release a 7" single with two new tracks, "Next to Paradise" and "Dirty Ocean". Neither will appear on the new Iron & Wine album.
- The Black Keys' cover of the Stooges' 1969 track "No Fun", which will be released on 7" vinyl along with the original song on the B-side.
- Foals will release their new album Holy Fire on vinyl, which comes with a 7" containing "Bluebird" and a Friendly Fires remix of "My Number".
- Built to Spill will reissue their 2000 live album on vinyl and CD.
- Tegan and Sara will collect ten remixes of their Heartthrob single "Closer" on 12" vinyl, with reworkings from the likes of Yeasayer, Chris Walla, Morgan Page, and more.
- Surfer Blood will release "Demon Dance", off the upcoming Pythons LP, on 7" vinyl with the previously unreleased track "Slow Six".
Also, Jack White's Third Man Records has announced that their Record Store Day offering will be a 10th anniversary vinyl reissue of the White Stripes' Elephant. One LP of the double LP set will be split-color black and red, while the other LP will be white, appropriately.
