K Records founder Calvin Johnson's pioneering indie pop band Beat Happening have announced plans to reissue their entire catalogue this year, in chronological order. The group's 1985 self-titled debut, the very first K Records release, is now available on vinyl, CD, and digital formats. (It's been out of print for nearly a decade, according to the label.)
Like previous reissues, this Beat Happening pressing includes the Beat Happening EP (produced by Wipers' Greg Sage), the first Beat Happening 7" ("Our Secret" b/w "What's Important"), and material from the Three Tea Breakfast cassette and from the Let's Together, Let's Kiss, and Let's Sea compilations. All of the material was recorded 1983-1985. Check out the tracklist here.
