Watch Five Essential Blur Clips

With Found Footage, we dig through the depths of archival video on the internet. From performances to interviews and music videos, we uncover the best visual documents floating around the web. In honor of Blur's career-spanning box set, out this week via Parlophone, plus the band's triumphant Olympics gig, contributing editor Lindsay Zoladz shares five of the Britpop group's essential clips.

1. "Chemical World", live in Germany in 1993: Opening for Duran Duran at Germany's Rocklife concert in 1993, the fresh-faced lads performed the Modern Life Is Rubbish standout -- cut short when Graham Coxon's guitar comes unplugged from rocking out too hard. Damon Albarn finds the moral: "Don't jump too high, OK kids?"

2. "Parklife", live on the MTV Europe show "MTV's Most Wanted", 1994: This acoustic take on "Parklife" was performed shortly before the titular album's release skyrocketed Blur to British superstardom. Damon's jogging at 2:15 is classic.

3. "Beetlebum" live at London's Wembley Arena, 1999: A great, crowd-pleasing rendition of their 1997 hit "Beetlebum," the band's second UK #1 single after The Great Escape's "Country House." A DVD containing the entire Wembley performance is included in the Blur 21 box set.

4. "Tender" live at London's Hyde Park, 2009: Graham Coxon rejoined the band after a six-year absence, beginning an on-and-off reunion that has lasted until now. Here's a powerful, chill-inducing performance of "Tender" from their reunion concert at Hyde Park on July 2, 2009.

5. On "MTV's Most Wanted" in 1993: Albarn and Coxon don't seem terribly amused when they come face-to-face with "The Bingo Board of Death":

The Avalanches Say That Wasn't a New Avalanches Track/Mixtape We Heard a Couple Weeks Ago

Some music has been floating around for a few months that may or may not be new Avalanches material, via the mysterious website Pinchy & Friends. Most recently, a couple weeks ago, a mixtape titled Cool Gays by Cool Gaze appeared featuring "A track that may or may not be The Avalanches."

Last night, the Avalanches tweeted, "Mix not by Avalanches..snippet is 12 y/o Avs demo." So in other words, they say they didn't make the Cool Gays by Cool Gaze mix, and "A track that may or may not be The Avalanches" is actually a demo from 2000.

However, it looks like the new album is going full-steam ahead, with guests including Danny Brown, Jennifer Herrema, and Ariel Pink.

Watch: Rick Ross Rolls Up to a Fiona Apple Show in the New Video for "911"

To the next person who interviews Rick Ross, here is your lead question: "What are you doing outside of a sold-out Fiona Apple show in the video for God Forgives I Don't track "911"?" First there's a passing shot of the theater as he drives by, but later in the video, he's actually standing outside the venue in front of the "FIONA APPLE SOLD OUT" sign. This cannot be entirely coincidental. What do you think Rozay's favorite Idler Wheel cut is? He seems like an "Anything We Want" type of guy to me.

Video: Lower Dens: "Candy"

Lower Dens have shared a video for "Candy" off their latest full-length, Nootropics, as Stereogum points out. The clip, directed by Alan Resnick and Noah Collier, pictures a group of bored-looking oddballs climbing a rock wall in the woods, doing trust falls in a conference room, bouncing a beach ball, and more. Its stars include the band's own Jana Hunter and Geoff Graham.

After the video, watch Lower Dens perform "I Get Nervous" at this year's Pitchfork Music Festival.

Echo Chamber: Nile Rodgers on Daft Punk

"All I can say is those guys are geniuses... Spiritually and artistically, working with them was as good as anything I've ever done. It's as great as being in a studio with Bowie, it's great as being with Bernard Edwards, it's as great as the best stuff I've ever done with Duran or Madonna...It's going to be so cutting edge that people aren't going to expect what they're doing."

Spoon's Britt Daniel Starts Another Band

Divine Fits: "My Love Is Real" on SoundCloud.

Spoon's Britt Daniel has helped form not one but two supergroups this year. First there's Divine Fits, with Dan Boeckner of Wolf Parade/Handsome Furs and Sam Brown of New Bomb Turks. And in an interview with Exclaim, Daniel revealed that he's recording with Jason Narducy, formerly of Verbow, and Superchunk/Mountain Goats drummer Jon Wurster. Daniel will play bass in the group, which is the brainchild of Narducy. According to Consequence of Sound, the name of the band is Spl:t S:ngle, though Daniel told Exclaim that they were working under the name Split the Evil.

"Three guys, one mic. Just like how Elvis and Yes recorded," Wurster tweeted, along with the above picture.

Daniel also told Exclaim that he's asked his Spoon bandmates "to come up with some stuff for me to sing on top of. I just sort of suggested it-- I don't know if they'll do it. I've also come up with a few things. But I'll finish up with this, and we'll get back together again."

In the meanwhile, Divine Fits will release their debut A Thing Called Divine Fits on August 28 through Merge. Listen to their first single "My Love Is Real" above.

The above image is a screenshot from the video, featuring Dafoe. Below, find another screen shot featuring van Houten.

The "Cut the World" video will screen on August 11 at the Southbank Centre in London, as part of  the Meltdown Festival curated by Antony Hegarty. Behold, Kreayshawn's Album Art

Happy Friday! Kreayshawn has jumped the mother fucking shark. She's unveiled the monstrosity/delight that is the artwork for her upcoming debut album Somethin' Bout Kreay, above. Yep, that's her in a silk turban with green face tattoos, surrounded by animated, slithery, one-eyeballed creatures. And she looks really sad. IDK! Maybe we just need a couple of years to get on this level.

"I wanted an album cover that would really help to represent me and who I am," Kreayshawn said of the art, in a statement. "Something that, when people first see it, they'll say, 'only Kreayshawn could think of a cover like that.'" In the words of one 2 Chainz: Tru.

The release date for the album has been pushed back as well-- it'll be out on September 18, not August 14. Watch the newish video for album cut "Go Hard" and Pitchfork.tv's "Director's Cut" with Kreayshawn:

Ex-Queens of the Stone Age Bassist Nick Oliveri Avoids Jail Time

Nick Oliveri, the former bassist for Queens of the Stone Age, was arrested last July for felony domestic violence against his ex-girlfriend, and also charged with several felonies for resisting police and possession of cocaine, methamphetamines, and a fully loaded rifle. He faced a sentence of up to 15 years in prison. TMZ now reports that Oliveri was dismissed of six felony counts and charged with cocaine possession. His sentence is three years of probation.

Oliveri will serve 52 weeks of anger management and 200 hours of community service as part of his sentence. If he stays clean, a judge said the case would be expunged from his record.

R.I.P. Jason Noble of Rodan, Rachel's, Shipping News

Jason Noble, the Louisville musician of the bands RodanRachel's, and Shipping News, died this morning after his long battle with cancer. His Caring Bridge blog notes that he was surrounded by family and friends.

Noble joined the post-hardcore band Rodan in the early 1990s. They released a handful of singles and one influential full-length, 1994's Rusty, via Quarterstick. He later recorded minimalist albums with Per Mission, Rachel's, and Shipping News.

He was reported to be battling cancer in 2009, and in 2010, Shipping News released a new album, One Less Heartless to Fear.

Donations can be made in tribute to Noble here. UPDATE: Donation info is forthcoming.
