Kelly Hogan: "We Can't Have Nice Things" Stream
Kelly Hogan, Chicago songstress and the woman responsible for the beautiful harmonies in Neko Case songs, announced a new album stacked with A-list songwriters. On June 5, Anti- will release I Like to Keep Myself in Pain, which features songs written for Hogan by the late Vic Chesnutt, the Magnetic Fields, Andrew Bird, M. Ward, Jon Langford of the Mekons, Catherine Irwin of Freakwater, the Handsome Family, Robyn Hitchcock, Gabriel Roth of the Dap-Kings/Daptone Records, and others. The album also features accompaniment from Booker T. Jones. "We Can't Have Nice Things", streaming above, was co-written by author Jack Pendarvis and Andrew Bird.
