Are you a giant fan of the Residents with $100K burning a hole in your pocket? Here's just the thing for you! The eyeball mask-sporting anonymous San Francisco art rockers are celebrating their 40th anniversary of their debut single "Santa Dog" with something called the Ultimate Box Set, as SPIN points out. It's... unconventional, to say the least.
For starters, it's a packaged in a refrigerator, which contains over 100 Residents-related items, including every album on vinyl and CD, every single, music video, DVD, all pressings of "Santa Dog", and a giant eyeball/tophat mask.
Also, as we mentioned, it costs $100,000. "Sell a goddamn kidney if you have to," says frontman Randy Rose in a promotional video for the set. He also says there's an additional "mystery box" on sale for $5 million. The set is available in a limited-edition quantity of ten on Christmas Day, after which the band will head out on a 40th anniversary tour-- find information about ordering the set and tickets here.
