Watch Julia Holter's Literature-Inspired "Goddess Eyes II" Video, Ekstasis to Be Reissued, Expanded

Avant-pop artist Julia Holter has today shared the new video for her Ekstasis cut "Goddess Eyes II", which finds her peeking in on a world of tiny figurines, before taking on a through-the-looking-glass feel.

According to director Yelena Zhelezov, the clip was inspired by the Latin phrase "deus ex machina," a plot device used by Greek tragedians  for "seemingly unresolvable dramaturgical situations." It was directed "in tribute to Euripides and the literary spirit of the song," she said in a press release.

Domino will reissue Ekstasis, originally out via RVNG, on December 3. The following week, on December 10, they'll release a 12" single of the album's "Goddess Eyes I" and "Goddess Eyes II". The single includes a new "Goddess Eyes" takes, plus new track "Betsy on the Roof", both recorded with Christopher Votek and Corey Fogel. The tracklist is below.

Following the Domino releases, on December 11, RVNG will digitally release Ekstasis (Expanded), which contains the five-track Live From Beaudry, featuring Elephant 6 member Heather McIntosh on cello.
