Rage Against the Machine Share Unreleased Live Video, Demo, But No New Music in the Works

On November 27, Rage Against the Machine will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their self-titled debut album with a reissue set called Rage Against the Machine - XX available in various formats. Some of the versions contain unreleased live videos from throughout their career. Below, watch the band perform "Take the Power Back" live at the Vic Theatre in Chicago in 1993, via Billboard.

The set also includes a collection of rarities, including the band's first demo tape from 1991, released commercially for the first time. From that demo, hear "Freedom", above, via Rolling Stone

The relics included in the XX set might be bittersweet for fans. In conversation with Billboard, Tom Morello dispelled recent rumors that Rage Against the Machine would break their hiatus to record more new music.

"It doesn't feel like 20 years, but at the same time it's sobering that it is", he said. "And I will say that 20 years later we're able to take pride in the fact that in the history of rock music there has never been a more popular band with as radical politics as Rage Against the Machine, nor has there been a band with more radical politics than Rage Against the Machine that has been as popular."
