Update: Show cancellations and postponements continue. Sonar, an event featuring Die Antwoord Azari and III and more scheduled this Friday at New York's Roseland Ballroom, has been cancelled.
Skies are finally clear in the Northeast, but the ripple effect of Hurricane Sandy will likely continue for a while. NBC Universal will do its part to offer relief in the form of a telethon, broadcast live from 8 to 9 p.m. tomorrow night, The New York Times reports.
Matt Lauer will host, while Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Jon Bon Jovi, Sting and Christina Aguilera will offer musical performances. Jimmy Fallon and Brian Williams will also appear. The whole thing will be broadcast across nine different networks (NBC, Bravo, CNBC, E!, G4, MSNBC, Style, Syfy, and USA) and streamed online at the NBC website. Money collected from the telethon will be given to the American Red Cross.
On another Sandy-related note, the Smashing Pumpkins have rescheduled a string of East Coast tour dates due to the storm. Last night's show at Brooklyn's Barclays Center still awaits a new date.
